Qualifications & Requirements
All candidates must meet the following state and district requirements:

Masters or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
-
Active Connecticut Occupational Therapist License issued by the Connecticut Department of Public Health
-
Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
-
Ability to pass all required state and district background checks
-
Prior experience in school-based or pediatric therapy strongly preferred
-
Knowledge of IDEA regulations and experience developing and implementing IEPs
Primary Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:

Conducting occupational therapy evaluations and functional assessments
-
Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to support IEP goals
-
Delivering direct and consultative therapy services to students
-
Collaborating with educators, families, and support staff to promote student development
-
Documenting progress and adjusting interventions based on student needs
-
Supporting students participation in daily classroom routines and school activities
-
Educating school staff and caregivers on strategies for student success
